Show #2 (Unthemed)

Hello.

Welcome to show #2 of Not a podcast, the first unthemed post in this blog. Albeit without a theme, all these songs share a common trait — they are all unpretentious pop/rock songs that I have in my record collection but hadn’t listened to for some time.

Eurythmics is probably the best known of the four bands I bring to you this week and this song, When Tomorrow Comes is a typical music from the Revenge album, the closest to a rock sound of their records, in my opinion.

Concrete Blonde, is one of my favourite alternative rock bands. I love all their records I own and every song in them. Bloodletting is the first that I bought and Caroline one of its hits.

I Wanna Be Adored is the opening song from The Stone Roses debut album. This album is widely considered to be an icon of the Madchester movement and one of the most influential records of British pop/rock — NME even voted it as the best album of all times. I am not so sure about that, but recognise it as one of the most played in my collection.

The Black Crowes is one of those bands that had the talent and the songs to become a big mainstream rock name, but never quite did it. Remedy, from The Southern Harmony and Musical Companion, my first album of this band, is a good example of their energy and music style.

Have a nice week — hope to see you next Sunday.
